What we Do..?
Our Initiatives at KGVS
At Khadagdhari Gramin Vikas Sansthan (KGVS), our initiatives are rooted in the belief that true development begins with empowerment at the grassroots level. We engage with some of Bihar’s most socially and economically marginalized communities—especially Dalits, women, children, and small farmers—to create sustainable, community-led change. Our approach combines rights-based mobilization with development-focused interventions, ensuring both immediate relief and long-term transformation.
1. Community Mobilization & Rights Advocacy
We organize and empower communities to demand their rightful entitlements by:
Creating and supporting community-based organizations.
Facilitating grassroots leadership through platforms like Lok Shakti Sangathan, Vada Na Todo Abhiyan, and Roji Roti Adhikar Abhiyan.
Conducting village-level awareness drives, padyatras (marches), and legal advocacy.
2. Livelihood Promotion
To break cycles of poverty, we introduce income-generating and technology-driven models, especially for SC and BPL families:
High-tech nursery development for fruit plants.
Technical intervention in goat rearing, vegetable cultivation, mushroom farming, and organic agriculture.
Bamboo handicraft training for Musahar women.
Promotion of vermicomposting and bio-pesticide production.

Programmes & Activities
The Programmes and activities being run in the interventions villages include:
Health Education and promotion of primary health care with an emphasis on reproductive and child health, Water, Sanitation and hygiene.
Non Formal Education and Adult Education with a focus on socially relevant education and an equal opportunity of participation for the girl child.
Income Generation with emphasis on facilitating control over and access to land and water based productive resources, ensuring just wages, enabling access to the governmental employment generation programmes. Additionally promote complementary income generating initiatives through thrift and credit initiatives.
Legal Assistance and Education.
Training of social animators and community level leaders.
Community Organization is the key activity in the organization’s scheme of development.
Publication of newsletter and information dissemination through thematic publications on issues of relevance to the development of the marginalized.
Consciousness raising on relief and rehabilitation related issues coupled with carrying out relief and rehabilitative interventions and running pilots on disaster preparedness.
